Atrophy refers to the deterioration of cells and tissue. Blood, as a substance, is a symbolic representation of time and the ephemeral transition into osseous matter. I visually investigate the relationships between science, religion, intimacy, and the bodily submission into decay while emphasizing the photograph as object, relic, and remembrance. 

These images were created in the Gum Bichromate and Van Dyke process, using blood as the image's pigment. This is an ongoing project.
